March Beauty Roundup: 5 Beauty Oils to Hydrate Your Skin

Jojoba, macadamia, argan oils...learn about their hydrating benefits and which ones ECHELON recommends.

While they often get a bad rap, beauty oils aren’t here to make your face break out in pimples. When used properly, they are actually a failsafe solution to some extra hydration and can also help ward off future breakouts.

Our bodies do produce oil naturally, but the amount produced decreases significantly as we age and without sufficient oil supply, our skin can often get too dry causing breakouts, fine lines and wrinkles.

Ling Chan, celebrity facialist and founder of Ling Skin Care, suggests choosing an oil like jojoba or argan because they have a smaller molecular size, meaning they’re better able to penetrate through the top layers of the skin. But for those with acne-prone skin, understanding the mechanics behind your natural oil production is key. "Most people with acne try to dry their skin out, which is one of the worst things you can do. Acne is your skin’s way of telling you that your oil to water ratio is off balance," Chan told Forbes. “Breakouts happen due to overactive oil glands, so using a healthy supplemental oil such as squalane, diminishes your own oil production.”

Here, we’ve rounded up five different beauty oils for your face and body to help you set up your ultra-hydrated skincare routine.
